SD HERS partners with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, solar, and home improvement contractors to provide high-quality energy ratings, permit services, and rebate administration.

Since 2019, The SD HERS has been in the business of making the world a little greener, one home at a time, through energy efficiency ratings and home upgrade programs. We are an expanding team of Energy Raters working in all regions of San Diego.

HERS tests are required for new homes or additions greater than 1,000 square feet. HERS testing is also required any time a component of a central heating and air conditioning system is replaced or when new central heating and air conditioning equipment is installed. Since 2010, contractors must register all HERS tests required on a project to obtain a building permit.
